Special Events and Collaborations
Herstorical Tours is always delighted to collaborate with partner organisations on special events that educate on and celebrate women's history. This could include (but isn't limited to!) talks, performances, plays, immersive experiences and workshops for adults and children. This page shows you some of the things I've worked on.
Some of the organisations and venues I've partnered with...

2026
May- Summer is a coming in! - The Chelsea Physic Garden
I designed a bespoke evening of plant folklore, storytelling and ritual to celebrate May Day and the Celtic festival of Beltane - the coming of summer! Photos below.
2025
November: Last Tuesday Society
For the last three years I have been giving a talk and performance for The Last Tuesday Society at the Viktor Wynd Museum in Hackney. I deliver a 1 hour presentation, a character monologue and a piece of spoken word for the event.
October: Wycombe Paracon
I was honoured to be asked to give a one hour talk on witch history at the Wycombe Paracon in Amersham this year, and to attend a panel discussion afterwards on all things magical and paranormal.
Chelsea Physic Garden
For Halloween 2024 I created a special performance and presentation for the Chelsea Physic Garden called Hex in the Garden about cunning women and their persecution during the witch trials. Hex in the Garden returned for Halloween 2025.
September: Dr Johnson's House
I was excited to run a special immersive evening for Dr Johnson's House called Sex and the 18th Century City (and Dr Johnson...). This event included a talk and character performance bringing the 18th Century sex trade to life in a beautiful 18th Century building.
April: Bow Street Museum of Crime and Justice
I ran two special Suffragette Live! events for the museum this year. On 6th April a family friendly workshop on the Suffragette campaign (with a singalong!) and on 11th April an evening performance in character as radical suffragette Kitty Marion.
March: Chelsea Physic Garden
In March 2025 I ran a Mother's Day Special tour 'Bloomin' Women' exploring the Garden's botanical Herstory. This was a 1 hour tour of the garden, with theatrical vignettes to bring characters to life.
2023: London Museum
Similarly, on 8th March 2023 (International Women's Day) I was invited by the Museum of London to participate in a special event called Women: Witches and Wenches. I was honoured to perform for this event, produce a short lecture and chair a debate. We discussed the persecution and execution of women as witches throughout history.
"Maria has developed two bespoke events for us at Chelsea Physic Garden, each shaped by her captivating storytelling, deep historical insight, and magnetic presence. Her work has resonated powerfully with our audiences, contributing to two sold-out events. Maria’s creativity and dedication make her a truly standout collaborator. She’s a joy to work with, and it’s a real privilege to witness her bring stories so vividly to life. I’d highly recommend her."
Alexander Gunter, Public Programmes Manager, Chelsea Physic Garden
"Maria is professional, knowledgeable and has unbeatable enthusiasm for her-story and giving audiences the best experience possible. She developed a new piece especially for the event and overall played an invaluable role. It was a pleasure working with her and I would highly recommend her!"
