October re-cap
WOW. What a month October was. 2026 has got to have been my best Halloween yet. I did no less than 17 events this month : an epic mix of talks, immersive one off performances, spooky tours and private tours. I launched a special ghost tour this month: Phantom Femmes, too. I pretty much sold out most of my events, and only a couple were cancelled due to the weather. We were lucky and the witches were, as always, on our side!
Here’s a highlight reel for those who celebrate!
Thank you SO much to everyone who bought tickets, bought badges, booked me for private tours, shared my posts, championed me online, told your friends about my work, and just generally supported. I met some wonderful people this month and am always SO grateful to be doing this work. Couldn’t do it without you all though!
November
Remember, Remember, the (whole) of November,
Harlots and Gaol Birds and Gin!
(and much more!)
So after October I traditionally have a quieter month in November. But this year….Not today Satan!
November is almost as jam-packed, and not least because of the three special events I’m doing. Here they are, in order of when they’re happening!
6th November - Women, Gin and Sin!
Now THIS I’m excited about! I’m partnering with booze expert extraordinaire Jane Peyton to bring an immersive evening of 18th century herstory and gin tasting to the Foundling Museum.
First I’ll be leading you in character as Madam Ginerva, the spirit of 18th Century Gin, around the galleries of the museum. I will be recounting the history of the Foundling Hospital through the voices and stories of Georgian women. Expect to meet an unfortunate mother, a ballad singer, and a Duchess. After the 45 minute tour, you will have a gin tasting session where you will be trying various gins, all the while being regaled with stories of gin and its origins from expert Jane.
It’s going to be thoughtful, fun and boozy, and you get to enjoy the gorgeous 18th century rooms of the museum. What’s not to love?
There are two time slots to book, and spaces are strictly limited and going very fast! Get in super quick if you fancy this exclusive event! Tickets here.
12th November - Hogarth and the 18th Century Sex Trade

Equally exciting is this immersive tour and talk at Hogarth’s historic home on 12th November! Head down to Chiswick to see me in character leading you on an introductory tour through the galleries, followed by a more formal sit-down talk on the 18th Century sex trade; how Hogarth’s art reflects that world; and what he was trying to say about it. Tickets are an absolute steal at £12 as this is a Hounslow Council sponsored event, and there will be a bar open throughout.
Honestly, this is unlikely to repeat at such a low price so grab a ticket if you can! Here.
16th November - Witch Hunting in Blighty!

I am bringing my popular witch hunts talk back to Pints of Knowledge this month, this time at the Bird House Brewery in South London.
Expect 40 minutes of witch hunts history in good ol’ England, and what they mean for us today. Have the witch trials actually gone away? Last few tickets here.
26th November - Gaol Birds: London Women on trial 1800-1923
Another very special one off event! To support the London Archives excellent exhibition Londoners on Trial, Melissa and I are bringing my Jailbirds of Old London tour to the London Archives for an adapted in-house version. Through a combination of dramatic storytelling, theatrical re-enactment and formal presentation - we will be spilling the beans on female criminality in the 1800’s and early 1900’s with a special focus on four distinct true crime cases. We will be comparing how women were dealt with in the criminal justice system in the past, compared to today.
You’ll have the opportunity to visit the exhibition as part of the evening, and there will be a bar to get drinks.
It might be dark- I won’t lie. These subjects are not for the faint-hearted. But for true crime and history geeks, it should be an entertaining and thought-provoking night, and tickets are almost sold out. Again, get in fast to secure yours! Tickets here.
TOURS TOURS TOURS !
I had waiting lists for my October tours, so if you did miss out, there’s always November! Here’s what’s on and when:
8/11 - Remembrance Day Southwark Hysteries

Remembrance Sunday is about honouring our fallen heroes and I’m all onboard with that. But I think it’s also a good time to remember our fallen heroines too. Particularly the ones we don’t know so much about. That’s the point of Southwark Hysteries. Join me on a storytelling, theatrical walk through Southwark to discover and honour these women. Tickets here.
13/11 - Friday 13th Hex and the City

Friday 13th, unlucky for some - but NOT for witches! 13 is the number of the coven, after all. If you missed our Halloween tours, now’s your chance! Explore the places witches were put on trial, executed and even did rituals in London. There might even be some unexpected magic happenings along the way…
Join us on this auspicious day to guarantee no bad luck with befall you. The witches are with you! Tickets here.
20/11 - Harlots and Strumpets and Tarts, Oh My!

We’re back for our monthly jaunt into Covent Garden with the Harlots! With your ticket you’ll have free entry to the Foundling Museum, and this tour gives some great context to the 18th Century world that the Hospital was built to serve. Expect flamboyant costumes and saucy references throughout! Tickets here.
22/11 - Votes for Women!

The militants are also back! March with us through London and recall tales of the fearless women who risked it all for the Vote. Explore the streets and buildings they smashed, were smuggled in, stormed, and were put on trial. End the tour with an optional visit to the Bow Street Museum of Crime and Justice to see where they were kept in the police cells. Tickets here.
Other stuff: Private tours and Badges!
Camilla proudly wearing her Vag Badge!
As you no doubt are aware I am still selling VAG BADGES - an original design. You can buy them from my website and have them shipped to you or you can add them onto a tour ticket*. The perfect gift for the badge nerd/feminist in your life!
I’m still taking bookings for private tours this year (although availability for the rest of the year is now pretty limited!) and I’ve started taking requests for next year, for those of you who are super organised and planning ahead! Email me for requests.

Still from East of Eden (Netflix, 2026)
Right, sorry once again for an epic newsletter. I will be returning mid-month with a HERSTORY blog and updating my social media as much as possible.
Thank you once again for being so awesome. I appreciate you all. Enjoy November. I am aware that the content of my work is often dark and I share a lot of horrible history. But I think it’s important, because it is truth. So here’s a quote from John Steinbeck’s classic novel East of Eden to end this newsletter. (If you’ve not seen the spectacular adaptation on Netflix I highly recommend it!)
“There's more beauty in truth, even if it is dreadful beauty.”
Lots of love
