Hot Girl Summer awaits! 🥵

Phew! It’s getting steamy out there isn’t it? I hope you’re coping…I’m one of those totally unrelatable people that loves the heat, so I’m in my element. That’s right, even when clad in a 100% nylon Georgian gown and wig. Give me this over cold winter any day!

June was glorious, we kicked off the month with a busy Jailbirds of Old London tour for the WI, followed by a very sweaty Harlots,  Votes for Women and Hex and the City tours later during the heatwave. I also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Chalke History Festival in Wiltshire -  the largest history festival in the country. I may even be on their programme next year spreading the joy of Herstory..who knows! ;-)

The month was nicely rounded up with a social media marketing workshop organised by the excellent Lets Fund Her and Vibes and Visibility. You may have seen my short rant about it on social media (!) Definitely worth following if you’re a female-led business, or even if you’re not! I learned a lot about fears and confidence at this workshop.

Photos from the month below for your perusal.

July Shenanigans

So what have I got for you in July? Two words: A LOT.  I’ve got three private walks this month to start with and here’s a round up of the public events. More information about them below.

11 July  Jail Birds of Old London ONE NIGHT ONLY

18 July   Hex and the City

20 July Harlots and Strumpets and Tarts with the Foundling Museum*

25 July   Sinners, Saints and Saviours

27 July  Votes for Women! Suffragettes at Bow Street and Beyond

Jail Birds of Old London

For one night only this summer, I’m resurrecting my true crime mega walk which explores women who turned to crime from the City to the West End in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Expect ‘angings, comedic accents and grisly crimes, along with liberal dustings of feminist discussion.

Hex and the City

My ever- popular witches tour is not limited to the dark and cold! We witches like to get sweaty too 😅 Join the coven this July for a saunter into London’s pagan past…

Harlots and Strumpets and Tarts (and Foundlings…)

What happened to the babies of the 18th Century sex workers? How were pregnancies dealt with? These are questions that are answered on our Harlots, Strumpets and Tarts immersive walking tour in collaboration with the Foundling Museum this month.  Included in your ticket is entrance to the museum at a date that suits you.

Sinners, Saints and Saviours

Our jaunt into the herstories of the oldest settlement in London -  Southwark, continues this month. From Roman times to the 20th century, meet the women that shaped this borough.

Votes for Women!

The disabled, the working class, and the women of colour who fought for the right to vote are brought to life on this tour that includes entry to the Bow Street Museum of Crime and Justice.

New tour for Halloween!

Early bird tickets!

Shhh! More info on this coming soon but you are all the first to know that I will be launching a new walk this October called Magic, Mystics and Martyrs. This shorter walk will explore rebellious herstorical women who haunt the Thames Path and Tower of London. Early Bird tickets are strictly limited and selling fast so grab them now!

Right that’s it! Thanks for sticking with me, there’s a lot going on this month. Please follow me on my socials below to get the most up to date information about events, and I’ll be back in a couple of weeks with a Herstory blog.

Please also comment/share the Herstories if you feel inclined. Commenting on my posts helps the algorithm, so any support is greatly appreciated !

That’s it for now my lovelies. Stay cool!
